Packing Tips

Packing yourself can be a worthwhile way to save money on your upcoming move. We'll try to go over a few tips that may help make your packing experience a more pleasurable one.
  • Packing takes time. Don't wait until the last minute to start. Instead start with out of the way areas, such as a basement or a garage.
  • Have lots of tape, padding material, and of course, boxes, on hand to get the job started.  Padding material can be newspaper (unprinted will give cleaner results in the end), bubble wrap, towels, blankets, stuffed animals, clothing, pillows.
  • It is best to pack room by room so the contents don't become intermixed. This also allows for convenient breaks or stopping points.
  • Make sure to mark the contents of the box, the desired room placement, and your last name. An abbreviated comment or two should suffice "LR / Towels & Linens / Smith".
